Campers can choose from the natural settings of two provincial parks or one of the many recreation-packed family resorts. If you are looking for more traditional amenities for an overnight getaway, you will love the many options of cabins and cottages to suit a variety of styles and budgets.
Provincial Parks
Miles of sandy beach and boat launches for fishing are common at many campgrounds in Chatham-Kent. Both
Rondeau Provincial Park and
Wheatley Provincial Park are situated along Lake Erie and offer beachfront access and other water activities minutes from their site. Rondeau has 261 campsites and offers several recreational activities including lake and bay swimming, nature trails for hiking, biking and rollerblading and themed programs during peak tourist season. Tent, trailer and group camping are available at both parks. Wheatley offers wooded camp settings with most of its 220 sites shaded for good privacy. Enjoy the recreational opportunities including beach access, playgrounds and hiking trails.
Conservation Area and Private Campgrounds
C.M. Wilson Conservation Area has a forest, man-made lake and small woodlot with 100 campsites. You will have access to canoe rentals, beach access and nature trails.
Private campgrounds in Chatham-Kent include
Campers Cove, a family camping resort, and the marina campground at
Mitchell's Bay Marine Park. Located in Wheatley, Campers Cove provides a large shaded campground with sports, movies, special events, teen programs, trails and more. Mitchell's Bay Marine Park features 108 campsites with boat launch ramps and close proximity to beaches and playgrounds for the entire family to enjoy.
Southside Landing and Marina: Located in Erieau, Southside Landing and Marina offers seasonal boat docks, 17 transient rv sites, and a baot ramp.
Mariners Trailer Park: Forty seasonal sites with municipal water and electricity. Lake front location with a beautiful sandy beach. Recreation building with kitchen, playground area, laundromat and showers.
Rondeau Shores Trailer Park: Offers both seasonal and overnight sites for day, weekend, weekly and monthly stays. Tent sites, transient sites with water and electrical full hookup sites, cabins, trailers, water front cottages, and seasonal sites available!
Summer Place Marina and Campground: Highway 401 exit 101, south on Kent Road 15, located on Rondeau Bay. Daily/weekly/monthly/seasonal. Large level sites, good fishing, pond and bay; boat ramp, docks, access to Lake Erie. Quiet family atmosphere.

Lakeside Village Motel and Campground: Established in 1958, Lakeside Village is located approximately 9km East of Wheatley, Ontario on the Talbot Trail, and is a privately owned facility consisting of 104 campsites and 13 motel rooms. Located High on a Bluff, this campground is ideal for a relaxing view of Lake Erie or you can go down the lighted steps for a refreshing swim at the private beach.
Cabins and Cottages
Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay, Erieau
Bayside Camp offers nine seasonal trailer sites for long term guests and two nightly sites for those wanting a shorter stay. For those without a trailer, there are two cabins to accommodate four people in each. You will have access to the boat ramp, docks, and fish cleaning station, and can also rent kayaks, canoes or pedal boats.
Willow Barrel Retreat offers short-term rentals include cottages which accommodate 1-6 people and our luxurious suites which accommodate 1-4 people. All rentals have access to a bbq, picnic tables and our 200 foot dock on the bay. Take advantage of their paddle boards, single kayaks, double kayaks, canoes, and bicycle rentals and even a fire pit area by the dock for all to use.
Molly & OJ's - Lakeside Cabin Rentals features ten self-catering units, each with parking. Most feature a kitchenette and some have full kitchens.
Erie-O Motel has three waterfront cottage suites available to rent. Each feature full kitchens, separate bedrooms, couches, WIFI and satellite T.V. with fishing available right off the docks.
Lake St. Clair, Mitchell's Bay
Bass Haven offers fully equipped cabins, with 50ft of dockage at your own front door, located on a protected canal.
Garden Patch Cabins offers three units to choose from, and all are fully equipped. The largest sleeps twelve people.
Rooms at the Bay offers rooms to accommodate up to five people. Amenities include full-sized fridge, microwave and T.V.
Waterway Cottage & Trailer Resort near Mitchell's Bay features several cottage rentals, all including air conditioning and heat. Indoor plumbing, town water and amenities including a boat dock and fire pits. Enjoy tranquil nights and great fishing or hunting.
Cabins are often booked months in advance, so it's best to secure reservations as early as possible.
